On The Hoof, and our sister company The Red Bus Company, are originally from County Armagh, and work throughout all of Ireland. With regular stop off points throughout Dublin. For the last three years On The Hoof has been trading in streetfood markets across the city; Eastpoint, Spencer Dock, Mespil Road, UCD, and Sandyford. And we also have the joy of working with private corporate clients both big and small, to make their events that extra bit special.
The On The Hoof fleet is comprised of several unique and wonderful creations. It all started with The Red Bus Company, which is our 1965 London Routemaster Bus. Christened “Ruby” she came to us over 5 years ago and was treated to a full refit inside. Formerly a children’s play bus she has been lovingly converted into a beautiful small events space and mobile coffee bar. Adorned inside with red cedar cladding, and her resplendent red paintwork outside, Ruby makes a wonderful addition to any event, wedding, corporate occasion or brand activation.
The next star of the show was our custom-made smoker. And this is were On The Hoof was really born! We took a WWII water tank, used as a hydrant on an airbase, which had lived on our family farm since the 1950’s, and repurposed it into a Texan style offset smoker. Mounted on a trailer we can take the smoker to any event or special occasion, and with an oven space this large it can feed any number of guests! Not only that, but this unique style of cooking provides a unique, and delicious, flavour which simply cannot be replicated in any other way.
Our most recent addition is our beautiful 1963 Airstream Globetrotter. Having started its life with Harold and Leslye Peterson in Florida, and having spend countless years travelling around the USA, we found her parked up, and in a less than pristine state, in Cape Cod Massachusetts. After a long journey from New York to Armagh we undertook a complete restoration over several months, and finally launched it into service in the summer of 2019. The perfect addition to any event, large or small, and even better when combined with our other child of the 60’s Ruby.
